Use Product Data Feeds to Boost Sales

Afternoon. Just thought I'd take aminute to explain product data feeds for those of you who aren't taking advantage of them. Data feeds are very powerful tools for affiliates. These spreadsheet, csv, or tab files allow you to build dynamic sites in a fraction of the time that it would take to hand code a site. You can add product listings for all or many of AC Lens's products by simply creating a page or a few pages.


If you work with MS Access you are golden. You just download the file (from CJ's Ask A Question interface or email me) and then import it into a database file, or the database file you use for your site.


Create a display page that is keyed on the productID. You can use a querystring like this http://www.mysite.com/mydisplaypage.asp?ProductID=x. There are a few more details that you must include that I can explain to you personally later, but your web developer should know how to incorporate such variables.


Each page includes variables that pull from the feed and each page is generated dynamically. You can have a page for every lens in our feed. All you need to do is create links using the URL style above and you should see your commissions increase.


Listing our products as well as including text and banner links creates a more content rich site and adds value for the user.
